I'm honestly not sure what the demographics of your readership are. I'm making the assumption that we are primarily RFKJr. supporters, volunteers and donors. That said, is the bar so low for Trump that you call Harris out in this article without being super pissed off at how horrible Trump was? We all know she's not our candidate. But come on, Trump did NO-thing to boost my confidence in Bobby's belief or expectations that he will support the MAHA movement. He had opportunities and he blew it. And if you say he was defending himself, he should have created the opportunity to mention, Bobby, Nicole, Elon, Tulsi etc... This was a very disheartening performance by DJT. He needs to do better. His base is safe, we are not a safe, free vote for him. He needs us. Don't take us for granted, show the MAHA and RFK Jr. supporters that you hear us and appreciate what Bobby and Nicole have sacrificed for you!

Disagree. A vote for DT in a swing state is an attempt to avoid the tyranny of KH. A vote for Bobby in any other state shows the will of the people: we are tired of "politics as usual" and do not wish to choose between the lesser of bad or worse. A vote for Kennedy is a vote for the future.

Therefore, the revised request is for everyone in ALL states to vote for Trump, so that there is no risk that it could be challenged and contested. I leave it to the voters to decide about various poltiical candidates and our tech leaders.

I will say we need to pay attention to what we are subsidizing. If we are subsidizing things that don’t help Americans thrive in the long run AND help pay off our national debt with all the speed we can muster, that’s a problem.

It’s not hard for real leaders to explain big problems and unite Americans to achieve just and innovative solutions.

Passing the Border bill negotiated by both houses of Congress would be a great start on Day One. Why did Trump ask the Senate GOP to block its passage? Did he think we’re blind sheeple? That’s not the leader we need. We don’t need leaders that take away our rightful freedoms.

Some Americans hang onto a pessimistic, divisive vision. They believe upholding the rule of law and paying off our national debt is rocket science. It's not! They also try to profit from dividing us. We need to agree on a couple of things at least - respect the rules and innovate WISELY to thrive!

Clean energy is much cheaper, more abundant, sustainable, and safer than burning fossil fuels when done properly. We will save a lot of money by avoiding chronic health conditions when we stop polluting air, water, soil, and food with emissions, PUFA’s, and forever chemicals.

The price of energy will go down and never spike again when we complete what remains of our decades-long transition to a clean energy economy. At that point, we can ban fracking because there’s never a shortage of wind and solar when the infrastructure is properly designed and located, and also backed up with inexpensive long duration energy storage (the kind that doesn’t require rare minerals).

The solutions are here, Paul. You just don’t see them yet because you are focused on political power.

Leaders need to listen to those who have experience and vision (not me, but many that I listen to).

In 2020, nearly 160 million people voted in the presidential election. Trump's goal was to throw the credibility of the vote in certain swing states into question ("if I don't win, then we'll know it was rigged"). Certified vote totals from each of the 50 states were sent to Congress to be certified in a final national total but Trump and the GOPconspited to throw the certification process into disarray by again contesting the swing States in question. The Constitution allows Congress to decide a contested Presidential election by giving each state ONE VOTE which amounts to a total of 50 votes to decide the presidential outcome. This would have nullified 81 million votes. Since Americans believe in democracy, they would naturally feel this radical reduction of 160 million votes to just 50 votes amounted to some kind "legal coup" or "soft coup" attempt. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1h_2pR1pq8s_I5buZ5agXS9q1vLziECztN2uWeR6Czo0/htmlview

Hopefully Americans don't believe in democracy since democracy is simply tyranny of the majority. We have a Republic, even if most people don't realize it.

Expand full comment

Yes, but there is also "tyranny of the minority" where Congress casts 50 votes from 50 states to decide our next President. As a lifelong resident of a low population rural state, I've witnessed both the tyranny of the majority AND the minority over many decades. It is also in the history books going way back. Tyranny is just not good, and what we need is three well-functioning branches of government holding onto people-centric values to make things work. The special interest and corporations are polluting and corrupting our government.

Tyranny will never be tolerated in America as long as we have the right to free speech, free assembly, freedom of the press (currently diminished by corporate control), and the right to petition the government for redress of grievances. Stagnation should not be a feature of our government of, by, and for the People. The Constitution gives the People all the powers not expressly given to the states and the federal government. The people achieve justice and self-determination through defending our rights using democratic processes outlined in the Constitution.

Preserving safety and peace, the general welfare, freedom, and justice are central democratic values upheld in our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. We must work together to debate and decide our differences at local, state, and federal level. We must use democratic processes outlined in our Constitution to decide. We are not at the point that 50 votes in Congress need to decide for us. We're just not there.

We must always strive to avoid tyranny, injustice, and the threat of violence. We are living through a period of disruption where both new and long established patterns of tyranny will be questioned and discarded. We will see great things gradually emerge as people get re-engaged in public discourse and democratic process, and none of the things that emerge will uphold or prolong tyranny.

We must work for a new consensus, a new way forward based on core social values and democratic processes. We must uphold the rule of law and innovate together so together we can thrive and pay off the national debt incurred while we were snoozing.

Expand full comment

Very nicely written Arvella. You've highlighted a core problem of our times. The checks and balances of our constitution have been corrupted away and no longer function effectively.

Something that concerns me is that virtually every election is a razor thin 50/50 popular vote. We aren't making clear choices of "we want this" vs "we want that". There is no "mandate" from the people.

Whomever should be elected, if it wasn't a corrupted voting process, should win something like 60-40 or maybe 65-35. Thus (assuming the vote is trusted) a clear message is sent supporting the victorious candidate and refusing what the loser was promoting.

With our current situation, my opinion is the best we could do is for a third party candidate to get 40% and the other two getting 30% each, thus saying loud and clear: "against all odds, it's clear we do not want more of the same" - if a third party candidate only gets 5% to 10% of the vote then all we have is more whining about them being a "spoiler".

Sep 5, 2024 from RFK

WHO BOBBY WANTS YOU TO VOTE FOR

SUPPORT ME, VOTE TRUMP

A lot of people are asking me, if they live in a red state or a blue

state, should they still vote for me? What about swing states?

The answer is easy. No matter what state you live in, I urge you to vote

for Donald Trump. The reason is that is the only way we can get me and

everything I stand for into Washington DC and fulfill the mission that

motivated my campaign.

A lot is at stake. The health of our children, the integrity of our

government agencies, even the survival of our species as the Democrats

push us closer and closer to World War Three. But let me tell you one

more reason why it is imperative we get Donald Trump into the White

House.

Right now, free speech is under withering and relentless attack in America

and across the globe, but we still have enough of it that you can at

least read this email or follow me on X. We can still run an opposition

political campaign.

Well in a lot of countries you can’t do that, because the state controls the

media. The state censors the internet. Brazil just banned Twitter

because Elon Musk refused to censor user speech. Kamala Harris says Musk

better behave himself or he will “lose his privileges.”

She thinks — and the Democratic establishment thinks — free speech is a

privilege. Well I think it is a right. And if Kamala Harris is elected,

the powers behind her will quash that right. They are already halfway

there. It will be too late by 2028. Once we are in the grips of

totalitarianism, we won’t be able to vote our way out of it. This is our

last chance to stop them.

After long conversations with President Trump and his team, I know that he is

fully convinced of this priority. He sees the censorship machine for

what it is. Remember, he was kicked off Twitter back in 2021. And he has

experienced directly how government agencies are being weaponized to

destroy political opponents. He is going to be relying on me to help

clean up that corruption, and that’s why I’m relying on my supporters to

help him return to the White House.

As you know, this could be a very close election. A disputed election

result would be a disaster for our divided nation. President Trump needs

to win in a landslide both in the Electoral College and the popular

vote. He can’t do it unless my supporters join him and look at the big

picture. We have to unify if we are to overthrow the entrenched elites

who are ruining our country.

Here’s what that means for you:

- In every state, if you support me and my vision of a government united around common goals, I encourage you to vote for President Trump.

- This isn’t about splitting votes or sending mixed signals. It’s about creating a united front that will carry us through these turbulent times and restore integrity to our government.

I am fully committed to this path. Any confusion or division at this

stage could undermine the very progress we’ve fought for. And this means

I need your financial support now more than ever.

Our message and our priorities are resonating as never before. They are

entering the very DNA of the MAGA movement and transforming the

conversation about our country’s direction.

We need your support so we can continue generating powerful video content,

ads, and interviews to raise the issues of health, free speech, peace,

and honest government on a national scale.

Also, since the Biden-Harris Administration withdrew Secret Service

protection immediately after I endorsed President Trump, I need your

financial support to pay for critically necessary private security so

that I can safely speak at events around the country.

Thank you for standing strong with me for the future of America.

Sincerely,

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

I so wish President Trump had said the word 'censorship' last night because the people watching it, the mainstream network viewers especially, have no idea that there is censorship going on in America, or that the mainstream media is essentially state-run media now, or that they've been conditioned to actually support censorship without understanding the gravity of that. What a missed opportunity, along with not mentioning MAHA – Make America Healthy Again – after she slyly mentioned chronic disease in passing so it could appear to be part of her platform. Trump said a lot about the forever wars and other things, but not these other critical issues. He could have stopped her in her well-rehearsed, earpiece-enhanced tracks on many occasions. (Have you seen the earpiece photos?)

If anyone knows the universal patterns of narcissistic abuse, Harris's contributions to this debate appeared to be the “love-bombing” phase, which is just another part of the manipulative abuse, designed to put you off-guard and make you think things aren't SO bad, or that they might return to normal, before the next attacks. All those platitudes she made to make people forget the agony and destruction from the Biden/DNC/big pharma/blackrock c0vid jab mandates, all the financial and psychological hardship, all the ruined businesses and gutting of the middle class, all the continuing excess deaths, rubbery white clots and still surging turbo illnesses, all the miscarriages and exploding infertility, all the isolation and orchestrated division, all the dismantling of freedoms and constitutionally-guaranteed rights, all the secret build-out of surveillance and control infrastructure, all the utter despair of the last several years.

Let us not forget that this was a warm-up rehearsal, and we'd better find a way to stop it.

Let us hope that the new Trump-RFK Jr-Gabbard-etc. coalition can prevail, one way or another, in stopping the corruption and censorship at the root of our problems, and unify and heal the country.

"I just finished putting my daughter to bed and wanted to share my thoughts on tonight’s debate.

So this debate clearly pandered to the existing base of each candidate, but I don’t think it did anything for the undecided voter. This is why it is so important for the undecided voter to do their own research.

To Kamala supporters, she came off as very strong. To Trump supporters, Trump came off as targeted by the left wing moderators, who clearly skewed representation in favor of Kamala.

You know, but here’s the reality. If you’re living in America today, you probably watched this while also thinking about a chronically sick child, a parent, or a friend. On issues of health care, we don’t need more sick care programs. We need less sick people and healthy food, and that is precisely the plan we have in motion with President Trump.

I can personally tell you that the worst part of watching tonight’s debate for me was the American public couldn’t see who was standing behind each candidate.

Behind Trump is a whole movement of Make America Healthy Again and putting an end to the industrial war complex.

Behind Kamala, are the Blackrock executives who are running offices out of Kyiv because the war in Ukraine is so enriching for them. Behind her also are the big pharma executives who have pocketed trillions off of taxpayers via the Affordable Care Act.

I wanted to see something very compelling from Trump tonight because that’s the candidate that has embraced making America healthy again, fixing the economy, and putting an end to military escalation.

It is no secret that Kamala received favorable treatment by the ABC moderators, but the left, and especially Boomers on the left, they can’t see it. They are under the spell of the mainstream media and they are programmed to see Trump as a felon and a liar.

The moderators tonight were so quick to fact-check Trump but conveniently ignored Harris repeating things like the Charlottesville hoax which has been debunked by Snopes. Or her false claim about police officers being killed on January 6. These are blatant lies and they’re easily disproven. Yet, they were left completely unchallenged by two of the supposedly top journalists in the industry.

As independent voters, we have an uphill battle to climb to show the undecided voters and the brainwashed left how the system is actually set up to skew narratives, hide the truth, and convince Americans to be blind and vote against their own interests. I strongly urge all of you to think critically, and do your own research."

DJT told Zuck publically that he will spend the rest of his life behind bars if he meddles in the 2024 election again, He is not joking. He proposed Ammending the 25th to include VP impeachment provisions for hiding the competency of the Commander in Chief...

Trump missed an opportunity to bring along the many RFK supporters. He didn’t mention chronic health, or RFK once. So many are aching to believe that Trump really means what he has promised RFK, that he wants our children’s health to be his legacy. What we got: crickets.

Time is short and it seems to me they will be more effective if they deliver the message together. I was surprised that Trump did not mention anything about the unity party, MAHA. his exemplary transition team and areas of service they each bring to the table. I'm wondering how they get the largest groups of undecided voters together to hear an encouraging, uplifting message to people...town meetings? joint podcasts? Critical piece for me is that they deliver the message together.

I'm not sure Kamala has a policy. She seems to go with whatever she thinks is popular at the moment. For me the one clear strike against Kamala is refusing to acknowledge reality. The first question she was hit with was are we better off than four years ago. She didn't answer, but after babbling for a bit she said she has a solution. Thus implying the past four years have been bad (but without acknowledging it).

Harris is an Avatar created by the DNC. There is nothing there. The meat puppet said all of the right words last night but it was never challenged with fact checks of false statements nor was it ever asked and real questions. The head Of ABC News is. There will be no questions asked no unscripted moments from now till election. If you want to preserve your freedoms vote DJT and Vance

Trump is the Ethel Merman debater- Ethel was the beloved Broadway star who singing teachers said couldn't sing; she broke all the rules on how to be a good singer; but she had a powerful voice & her agent told her to never take a singing lesson because she was already GREAT. I went to bed thinking Trump was mediocre in the debate, but before I drifted to sleep, his basic messages hit me powerfully: America is flooded with millions of illegal aliens, some of who are dangerous- It is hurting our economy. People can't pay for food, gas, a roof overhead; Life was better under Trump & could get better again. The Ukraine-Russia war is going so badly, with hundreds of thousands dying on both sides. This war would never have happened under Trump and he can stop it within days of getting elected. He will talk to Putin. Biden/Harris have never talked to Putin. John F. Kennedy talked to Kruschev. Trump knows how to talk to Putin. Biden/Harris said the wrong things to Russia & within 3 days Russia invaded Ukraine. Harris will escalate this war with Russia- a nuclear-armed country, risking World War III & even nuclear war, but no one on that stage talked about it, except Trump. POWERFUL!

I “liked” your journalism, Mr Michael Rectenwald, very informative comments and very well written! As a senior American-citizen, I have to comment sir.. I’ve “seen & heard” multiples of reported incidents, travesties, and corruption rampant in the United States now for at least the obvious “12” years, of failed actions to these deplorable politicians (including the Trump administration)! My point is I’ve seen and heard more than I “wanting” to know! Why? Nothing has changed, with our politicians (both sides, seemed the same)! They don’t deliver or know how to start prosecuting these terrible people(leaders?)! Enough has been said and the continued abuse of the American People and our “once” shining USA! We have to go to war with these enemies, both the politicians and the power hungry oligarchs, without mercy(sorry)! I’m not an authoritarian, but common sense tells me.. take away the money, take away their power status, the useless big-government, start prosecuting at the top and make it known, the people have awakened, we will tolerate no more abuse! I don’t know why these people wear “suits”, they can’t pay the bills, they can’t be trusted! I’m so disappointed to see such weak people ruling over us..?? The politicians are methodically killing our Country, families, our livelihoods, are health, economy, they are robbing us entirely, all is being left is poverty and division.. unsustainable!

It’s too bad Trump does not have the training in debate that lawyers receive. They must learn to talk both sides of an issue. That Kamala has this training helped her, as did the 3 against one line up during the debate. Did anyone hear the moderators fact check Kamala even once? Trump did himself no favors by succumbing to the baits she threw at him and he missed many opportunities. RFK Jr could certainly help Trump to better present himself in this kind of venue. I sure would have liked to hear Bobby debate Harris. He would have wiped the floor with her. He has the same training and the smarts to go with it. I’m still voting for Trump. That evil woman has no place in the WH.

It is interesting reading the comments in this thread and where everyone is at. I will say this debate reminded me of the debate between Trump and Biden that Chris Wallace moderated. Moderator assisting with the attacks against Trump and false fact checking against Trump. Example Trump talked about late term abortion. There are 6 states that currently allow late term abortion. What did Harris and the 2 moderators say about late term abortion? Moderators said no states allow it. Harris said it is an affront to women. Truth is Trump is telling the truth. Harris brought up things that Biden brought up in previous debate that have already been proven as false and moderators said nothing about that. Harris said that the government shouldn't tell women what to do with their bodies, but the current administration told men, women and children to inject mRNA poison into their bodies. They killed men, women and children and injured some for life. Trump did have a great plan by getting big stockpile of free HCQ. What happened with that? Everyone attacked the proven effective, generic drug that was used during SARs1. Proven drug couldn't get big pharma's stuff on the market. All the murders and rapes and now gang takeovers are happening mainly from illegals from where? Venezuela. One of the countries Harris visited to find out the cause of illegal migration from these countries. She said she loves small businesses, but this administration closed how many with their lock down advice? I could go on and on. So many of these things are clear if people open their eyes.
