Excellent post. So well-researched and so important. And one more reason why we need a President Kennedy to watchdog foreign entanglements.

The people of Niger (present and future generations) deserve claim to the natural resources that are under their feet. France and the US need to get out of Niger, and Niger better think twice about letting Russia in.

I couldn't agree more. The bullying that has been thrown to Africa has to stop. As does the "Putin is a bad guy". So is the US. They have the most say on who mines there.

OUTSTANDING, including:

"The war between Russia and Ukraine was cultivated over the course of a decade through constant political and military interference by both the U.S. and NATO for their own selfish motives".

The Nigeria Morocco pipeline would run along the coast. Niger is not needed for transit. The Trans Sahara pipeline would run through Niger. As far as Russian interests in Niger, the “war” between the West and Russia is being fought on many levels. This topic addresses the energy war. Russia wants a market in Europe for its energy. They also use that energy access for political control. African energy is an option for reducing the EU dependence on Russian energy. The currency war is another front, with the BRICS plus threatening the US dollar as the reserve currency. The military aspect of this war is currently being waged in the Ukraine where, as stated by Austin, our aim is to degrade and exhaust the Russian military so that it cannot effectively wage war anywhere. According to Biden, our aim is regime change in Russia.

Excellent analysis, very straight forward and factual.

Unfortunately for Kennedy the demoncrat party is beyond redemption. As is the republican party. He and Trump could start a third party.

I know it's virtually impossible but it is how I feel.

For any real progress both the Democratic and Republican parties need to be scrapped. It's time for a "Great Reset" {laugh} Time to get rid of 99% of the politicians running the USA government (and time to dismantle 75% of the agencies!).

The politicians, who only pass laws, are relatively harmless. It's your next-door neighbors, your cousins. Maybe even your grandchildren. It's all the woke, and all the homos. They're everywhere, and not only do they vote for our Mortal Enemies, they control your local Town and School Boards. They "mandate" that you wear a mask, that you quarantine. They close the schools. They mandate that the schools teach about queer perversions to masked students of all ages.

Lock and Load.

On the contrary, and with respect: our neighbors, family and community are not the enemy, and treating them as such is exactly what the institution wants. Divide and conquer is the oldest trick in the book. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is explicitly running on the message of healing the divide, not making it bigger. America is for your friends and family whose lifestyle is different than yours, just as much as it is for you and yours.

That would be an unbeatable ticket that could conceivably give us 12 years of sanity, while pulling back from the abyss of war, debt, and federal tyranny. I think that both of the working together could save our Republic. They both have the same people hating them, which tells us something.

We need to keep the US out of a war in Africa that is completely about European colonialism and their horrid history toward the people on the continent.

This is one issue I agree with Barack Obama, who also referred to the Europeans as "colonialists". I think he was right on that.

Do you have a siurce for this or any more details?

The Bazoum administration was set to make changes to the mining code which, as it stands now, requires companies to pay Niger a royalty rate based on company’s reported profits, going as high as 12%. The new plan would have set the rate at 7% beginning in 2027. Therefore, regaining total control of the uranium mines is absolutely pivotal for Orano and France.

A President Kennedy walks into the room with over 130 years in American politics at the highest level. That is a very rare and highly prized commodity in world politics in the 21st Century. There really is no other choice for America at this time of waning American influence with rising Russian influence.

I get the importance of Niger but we should be keeping out of other’s affairs so should Russia.
