For this day only I will feature a few of the articles that want us to believe that Kennedy family members are now seeking trauma therapy because RFK Jr. had the courage to run for president as an independent against President Biden. I have not run these stories before (they appear every few days like weeds) because I do not regard them as being news. I present them now because I believe they say more about the publications that run these stories than they do about anything else. EVERY family in America has loved ones who have different thoughts on politics. If you are a clone and think exactly like everyone else you are related to, I apologize. RFK Jr. had plenty of family in attendance at the announcement who support his run. Those family members received no media attention.

Family relationships are complicated things. I recall seeing my father cry two times – when our grandmother died, and when Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated.

My father was a Republican.

As expected, there was a wave of negative hit pieces about RFK Jr.’s independent candidacy announcement from DNC-aligned media. The usual band of yellow journalists emerged with the usual descriptors – “anti-vaccine advocate,” “conspiracy theorist,” etc.

In addition to attacking Kennedy, this Slate article mocked the supporters at the rally – “The American political scion and conspiracy theorist championed solidarity among the partyless – and the paranoid.” – Robert F. There was a time when Rolling Stone and Slate were voices for alternative points of view and questioned the establishment. Now, they recite the DNC talking points to maintain an unjust status quo.

And what about former president Trump? I thought the comments of Kennedy supporter Karl Hagstrom summed up Trump nicely. Hagstrom came to Philadelphia from his home in Westchester County, New York. He said he supported Trump in 2016 and 2020, but said he plans to support Kennedy in 2024. He said he’s drawn to Kennedy because he feels the political outsider can bring unity to the country, unlike Trump, who he said has been too divisive. “Just the constant insanity, the tweeting, the negativity, the just out-of-left-field reactions to things.
