Maybe she knows price-fixing won't work and is lying about it, AND she is betraying the economic illiteracy of her advisors.

In case anybody missed it, check out RFKJ and other great speakers at the Rescue the Republic Rally in DC (on Rumble in its entirety). I am thrilled at the prospect of Bobby in Washington next year in a position of influence.

Her version of anti-price-gouging would allow potatoes to be sold for a maximum price of 25 cents a pound. The actions of consumers would make sure that after the first batch is sold out, no more would be available at any cost to the grocer. Then when more suddenly become available, there will be a limit of one potato per customer per week.

Here's what Robert Reich said about false accusations that Kamala Harris will be involved in price fixing.

"Let's be clear: Kamala Harris isn't advocating for price controls. She's advocating for federal laws to stop price gouging and make markets competitive. Prices are already controlled in America by big corporations that have gobbled up markets and don't have to compete."

That says fucking nothing for Christ sakes. Reich is a shorter version of word salad, an over supply of salad.

Sorry, I should have explained that he is saying she advocates breaking up monopolies and near monopolies to create competition and bring down prices the capitalist way.

Sorry, I should have explained that Reich is explaining that she advocates breaking up giant monopolies and near monopolies to create competition that will bring down prices the capitalist way. Teddy Roosevelt, a Republican, popularized this method of dealing with the type of thing that is happening now.

He’s a retired professor of economics at Berkeley who served as Labor Secretary under Clinton. He has as much right to provide his opinion as you do. Name calling doesn’t belong in a discussion of issues but I do understand your frustration.

I'm from England, I followed Kennedy's independent campaign with interest. I thought he was a viable alternative. He worked hard to help clean up rivers. Now he's joined Chump! He has no credibility anymore. Unsubscribe.

Harris's proposal is a campaign gimmick that has no chance of being implemented if and when she becomes president.

What she ignores is the cause of price inflation of food and other consumer products. I believe there is a direct correlation between food prices and the skyrocketing stock market which is caused by higher and higher profits taken by the billionaires and other stock speculators who ultimately own the investment houses and hedge funds that control the financial markets.

My suggestion would be higher capital gains taxes, which Harris has also suggested, combined with tax rebates for consumers. This would take away the incentive for price gouging and bring the stock market back down to earth.

Good luck getting this through Congress though. And if she is so confident in taking on the billionaires, why doesn't she get the Biden administration to do it right now? She is vice-president after all.

The ultimate source of price inflation is excess currency--that is, the Federal Reserve's unfettered creation of money out of thin air.
