The Democratic party no longer believes in democracy. They are a private corporation that can make its own rules and then later choose to violate them. They reserve the right to choose their candidate in a smoke filled back room. Debates complicate the situation, especially when their preferred nominee probably is incapable of debating on a stage at this point.

RFK jr needs to consider his own independent run if the DNC continues to rig the primaries

It's beginning to look to me like the time has come for the current Democratic Party to go the way of the Whigs in the 1850s when the rank and file party members said, in effect: "Screw the dictatorial party leadership. They're paying no attention to what the party members want. So we'll just start our own party, call it the Republican Party and nominate our own candidates." For the 1860 election they nominated Abraham Lincoln for President, and we all know how that went.

I am ashamed and embarrassed to be in the same party as Debra Wasserman Schultz. What a rude, ignorant, bellicose, bull-dozer she is! She thinks she has a right to pick the president herself!!--yet she's cold and shallow!!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It is unacceptable that members of Congress felt it appropriate to misquote and misrepresent RFK Jr. so explicitly. Americans deserve much better.

“We're going to see that it backfires,” Good says. People realize the media and the political system are so corrupt that if they're saying all these bad things about this person, he must be good.”

I think this could be true - but like I've commented here before, I think this kind of result depends on a lack of whining about how RFK's being treated. All well and good to press for debates and any other kind of forum where he can share his message, but he must be unwilling to stoop to whining about how the media and DNC are treating him. He knew it would be like this from the outset. He knew he was putting his life on the line from personal experience. The best thing he can do is to keep speaking up about how he'd run the country as president - Make his governing priorities louder than the naysayer's mudslinging.

Any debate cannot be run by Rupert Murdoch et al. Mainstream media is so biased on whom they call. In the old days, they were run by “The League of Woman Voters”. Supposedly they were unbiased. But then there’s Joe…

My Democrat friends seem to think it's ethical of them to be loyal to Biden for president. I say be loyal to country! Biden already had 8 years in the Wh House as a major advisor to Obama, and 4 years as President. Nobody is slighting Biden. But when the world is in such a dangerous state, we need mental acuity in our president, not be in a loyal bubble. The swing voter thinks Biden's mental acuity too old. Without the swing voter we lose.

Is there any way this issue can be put to DNC leadership in the boldest Black and white terms, as in “Does the Democratic Party actually believe they have the ultimate right to choose the nominee?”

It is clear that the party members want a choice and want debates. Why won’t the party honor the strongly stated preference of its members? They have the media on a leash. Is Biden so bad that’s not enough?

How about a Full Page ad in multiple metros making this case. Preferably funded by a legitimate civil liberties org or handsome billionaire 😉

In view of the beliefs of the DNC, as outlined in this article (https://ivn.us/posts/dnc-to-court-we-are-a-private-corporation-with-no-obligation-to-follow-our-rules), why is the DNC even bothering with the charade of primary elections in the first place? The court decision in 2017 basically said the DNC can play by whatever rules it makes up and choose whoever they want, and the primary voters be damned! I think RFK Jr. is the best hope this country has and HIS best hope is to run outside the "Democratic" Party.

I'm not a fan of Tucker Carslon but he shook up the Republicans with his questioning of them at the GOP candidate forum in Iowa. Someone on the Democratic side needs to do the same. Don't allow politicians easy questions, and don't allow them to divert with trivialised nonsense or repetition. For example, Mike Pence got taken down with the Ukrainian question and I'm sure that the same would happen to many Democrats when facing Kennedy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lD_biUbmaQ

They can’t base thier argument’s on lies and they know it . Their projection and deflection and gaslighting is wearing thin. They do not answer questions , instead they cop out and dodge talking about it and throw out the usual slogans that are tired at best . Thier overly used go to phrases, science and conspiracy theories is worn out . . In the real world it is at this point they have run out of slogans and I’m running out of patience . The way they act Tells me everything I need to know. .they shut him down because he is too close to the truth. They do not lie well . It’s sad to watch them backpedal to try and escape answering questions . . They have become deeply evil. I never thought I would see the day .
