I love the way you guys aggregate news and opinion like this, especially the Pro and Con, which is brilliant. It's almost as though you think we have brains of our own!

I sound like a broken record: I've been saying for months that the DNC simply won't allow RFK, Jr to win the nomination. The DNC will rig the primaries to make sure he doesn't win. This is a 100% certainty, as certain as the laws of physics.

RFK, Jr. must run as an independent if he wants to be on the general election ballot. No option.

He has a good shot at winning if he runs as an independent. The majority of Americans are centrists, politically. The majority are sick and tired of politics as usual between Democrats and Republicans. And RFK, Jr. is on the right side of 90% of the issues (IMO) - a very high percentage for any candidate.

For the first time in my lifetime, the US is ripe for an independent to win the presidency. It's the "perfect storm" of factors coming together to make that happen. And RFK, Jr is the perfect independent candidate.

It's tragicomic to see Democrats running around so terrified about whether Joe Biden is going to be able to beat Donald Trump when there's a guy right in front of their faces who even they would have to admit if they're being honest would landslide Donald Trump running for their party's nomination.

It's time for the RFK j campaign to face reality and run as an independent. He himself stated in a recent interview with Forbes that with the new DNC rules votes for him or anyone else won't count. He also stated with that reality he will now consider all his options because he can't go back to his donors and volunteers (like me) that he's in this to "make a point" Those of us that are not Democrats and supporters need to see a clear reality-based path to victory. Nostalgia is a complicated emotion but if you try to find something you remember from the past it won't be there. The party RFK j recalls with love is gone. He needs to lead this new movement and many of us will stand with him.

Regarding the Forbes interview linked to above, at the very end he says that he would run as an independent if the Democratic Party makes it impossible to win a primary battle. Is this new news? I can't recall him saying that this plainly up to this point, but I've been a bit out of the news loop the past few weeks.

He alluded to it in the Forbes interview in response to the DNC rules change but in two other interviews I saw him on one on a local news channel and the other on Fox where he ruled it out. My sense he can't leave his supporters, volunteers and donors with nothing.

It's like the Wright Brothers all over again. Alexander Graham Bell stopped the papers from reporting on their feats, but they persevered and we can now all fly because of them, not Bell.

As long as rfk Jr doesn't pull a Bernie Sanders and bends the knee to the DNC after they screw him, there's another option.

He could run under the libertarian party, as he is pro capitalism.

Or perhaps Cornell West could step in and run with rfk Jr on the green party.

(Sadly, the green party and West are still idiots when it comes to COVID and health policy, though the black caucus of the greens did challenge their leadership.. hmm)

I agree there is no way the Dems will let you have the nomination. I think the Dems are trying to push you to run 3rd party or independent in order to weaken the Trump vote. I voted for Trump twice but if given the chance to vote for you, I would. In a 3-way race, that puts Biden (or any other Dem nominee) in the White House. But a Trump-Kennedy ticket is unstoppable.

Kennedy as Trump's VP and not the other way around? No thanks. Exactly one of those men is a deep thinker who has a thoughtfully considered vision for this country and its people, not to mention a strong knowledge of American and modern world history. If Donald Trump could even name half the American presidents up to this point I would be really surprised, let alone tell you what notable things they did. Trump is pretty blatantly in this game for his own ego - he has no grand vision that I've ever heard him articulate. RFK Jr has one and it puts us front and center, not him.

Dick Cheney, as VP had the ability to steer us into the war of terror.

Rfk Jr as VP could steer Trump too. Trump regularly listens to absolutely corrupt people... but he does seem to have an ego to put his name in the history books.

Rfk's ideas would definitely give Trump the opportunity to be a real hero, not just one who plays one on TV lol.

Trump listens to no one. He had good instincts but poor judgment. He surrounded himself with crazy neocons like Bolton. If he would have controlled his impulses, he could have been a good president at best pretty status quo.

I agree with you on most points and respect your opinion. But the reality is, given the current situation I doubt RFKJr can get a Dem nomination nor get elected as a third party candidate. I wish it were different. But that's the way I see it.

I agree with you, but still, Trump as President with RFKjr as VP would be like if some talentless high school garage band who formed just to get chicks were to headline over Metallica.

If Biden goes down though between now and then, I think RFKjr could have a shot. There's got to be a vote threshhold where they wouldn't be able to deny him and still have a party left afterward.

And also, unfortunately this is probably the lesson RFKjr is going to have to learn the hard way, that the Dems are not going to let him win. He should have run as a Republican this time, but I guess it speaks to his integrity that he's not win-at-all-costs, rather he's trying to fix his own "team" who have gone far astray.

Maybe he can run indie in 2028, he'll still be in his mid-70s which is older than I'd prefer but younger than Biden and Trump are right now.

It is hard, very hard, when our heroes (ie Bobby) appear to struggle, but we must always be open to possibilities for them. In this case, please consider that the deck is stacked against him in the traditional scenarios, but might be open beyond our wildest dreams in others.

Perhaps. The other issue is that I just don't think he'd go for it.

But sure, I suppose if we had to have President Donald Trump and Kennedy was Trump's VP it'd be better than nothing.

We should have seen this primary cheating coming after seeing what happened to Bernie and to Ron Paul from the Uniparty These people in control are not Republicans or Democrats as we have known in the past. They are parasites who are killing the host with their corruption. It is time we admit that we cannot change this system from within, it is too corrupt.

Time to think of a third party or write in votes to get past these rotten people running a rotten system. We need to start thinking outside the box or we continue to lose.

"Corrupt" DNC? Unwise to use that word about a party committee you want to eventually endorse you! And what's this word "gaslighting" mean? You keep using it. I had to google it. And while I'm criticizing -- sorry! -- I think it would be wisest not to attack Gavin Newsom at all. A very gentlemanly campaign between you two when Biden retires would be healing to the country. Besides, you two should work together after the election.
