Let’s just say his shining light highlights the dullness of Biden and the egomania of Trump. I hope America realises what a gift to the USA & the world another Kennedy presidency would be 🤞☘️🙏✌️Bobby 424
Growing up in the 1960's all school children received a weekly newspaper entitled My Weekly Reader. We learned about the Kennedy administration's proposals for increased efforts in conservation, (environmentalism, now), special education, physical fitness for children, federal lunch programs for poor and disadvantaged children, and, of course, the Peace Corp, which my older cousin joined. Our teacher quizzed us on the names and titles of the Kennedy Administration cabinet. I cannot adequately describe to youngsters today how wonderful that era was. President and Mrs. Kennedy were exceedingly popular; Jackie was on the covers of myriad magazines, but moreover, because she spoke several languages was a tremendous goodwill ambassador. American cars, American popular music, American brands in clothing, furniture, and other goods, made us proud of our country and its leaders. Hope sprang eternal for the future. But shady characters in the CIA felt they had to play God, and now look at us. Terrible healthcare, terrible public education systems, corporate subterfuge of the environment, party corruption...Heartbreaking contrast between what was and what is. Bobby Jr. is our only hope for what can be.
I even failed to include the excitement of the New Frontier space race, the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, and the end of Jim Crow laws in the south. All that in 3 short years.
"Steward of the planet?" Listen, I'm voting for RFK. On areas where I disagree with him, I can tolerate his position and he seems fair. But let's not go into "savior complex" overload. He's a guy, like all other guys. He's got good ideas on accountability and removing corporate cronyism. Beyond that, a reasonable and healthy skepticism is the best position. Not hero worship.
Are you suggesting that I'd vote for a guy before I knew something of his history? Let's not go overboard. He's an environmentalist, and he seems a lot more sane than most environmentalists who believe the best fix is to either remove people from what they deem "overpopulation (which is on its face absurd). He is not a hero. He just has some good positions on which I agree.
I don’t care about the vax stuff. I am alarmed by the messianism. He reminds me of Obama in his belief that he has some special ability or calling if you wish to change the world. Scary. People like that are way more likely to be totalitarians than a Trump.
I smiled at the mention of the reporter's history with the Steelworkers Union. When I was a graduate student instructor at the University of Minnesota, the non-academic staff held a strike, but asked that the students still receive education off-campus. So, telling my students I would never cross a picket line, I held our classes for several weeks at the Steelworkers Union, who had offered up a room for classes during the strike. It was a wonderful experience.
We even ended up publishing a little literary magazine at the end of the semester called "The Steel Workers' Review," and when my first novel was published, I thanked my "Steel Workers One and All" (my students).
Bravo to RFK Jr for his defense of the environment, the poor, free speech, and so much more. He has my vote. Keep up the positive reporting like this!
Daniel, what a great article.thank you for your Birds Eye view of this great event-we live in rural MO and can’t get to an event like this but are honored to be rural volunteers in Mr. Kennedy’s campaign. I , too, just turned 70 years old , and never in my lifetime did I think we could have a person of Mr. Kennedys character and stature, intellect and experience, who would willingly throw himself into the fray to try to heal the divide instead of broaden it, secure the democracy and her constitutional freedoms instead of weaken and destroy her. God bless Bobby Kennedy Jr. You are correct-the legacy he continues does make his father and uncle proud.
Jr. is easily duped by conspiracy theorists. I'm acquainted with one, and he's a terrible and paranoid political thinker. But Jr. thinks he's great. Ooof.
I could care less what candidate a family member endorses, especially since so many make their salary off dnc-wh jobs and social life invites. Like there is a Camelot rubber stamp on a pedestal. I care about position stands and track record. Treatment of Palestinians is my litmus test at 67. It’s all about mic and zionist greed and racism. All his issues were kosher including his factual analysis of Sirhan until all the pandering for dark campaign funding and fear of smears from The Lobby. The “pampered” comment was the cherry that burst it for me. No shining beacon on a hill. I am tired of Congress and WH occupied by special interests. Overhaul money in politics in this oligarch driven to the ground nation!

Please review his history before you claim he is not a "steward of the planet".

Lots of people are environmentalists!
But can you name another who has accomplished even a fraction of what Kennedy has?
Why not spell out your concerns Joy so we’re not left wondering what you are cryptically suggesting, please.
Being a steward of the planet is not hero worship or a title applicable to only one person.

Is there a link to the full speech? I’d love to hear it

The Kennedy family has rejected his campaign.
