This is a wonderful column by Keala Kelly (Kanaka Maoli) who has vast knowledge, keen insight, a deep understanding of the issues, and great empathy with Native/Indigenous peoples and the problems we have faced throughout history and up to the present day in the U.S., Hawai'i and globally. As a collective, Natives have historically voted Democrat and from what I have seen in the Native/Indigenous media (which I monitor daily as part of my work for the past 25 years as a Native business owner), no one is talking about RFK, Jr. — or if they are it’s uninformed and negative. This needs to change. I thank the editors of The Kennedy Beacon for publishing Keala’s column and putting a spotlight on RFK, Jr.’s longstanding support of Native peoples in this country. This is a key voter bloc that needs to be brought into RKF, Jr.'s circle.
