Mr, Kennedy is confusing Trump with Biden. "such things as Trump’s decision to enforce lockdowns during the pandemic; to run up the national debt; and to keep America in ‘forever wars.’

There were no wars during the Trump presidency. Biden is trying to start WWIII.

“Our country is deeply divided. Under the last two administrations Americans have witnessed the weaponization of the justice system for political gain. Please state where the Trump administration used the justice system to attack the Democrat party. He didn't.

Kennedy is a good man, an outsider. The political machine controls both parties. They hate Kennedy and Trump.

Trump promised to end the forever wars, but he kept Syria going -- not as bad as Obama before him, but not so great either. And he assassinated the Iranian general. Trump didn't close bases. He wasn't as bad as past presidents, but that's a pretty low bar. Let's hold Kennedy to higher standards.

Where was the outrage when Michael Cohen went to prison for this very same crime?

I can't speak to whether Cohen was framed because they were trying to get Trump through him as they have gone after pretty much all of Trump's close contacts, friends and family to destroy them - and even the public supporting Trump have been marginalized as "cultists" (as you well know), fascists, white supremacists, etc. ad nauseum. I don't know if Cohen is a creep or if he has been pressured and backed into a corner to be used as a weapon against Trump. But I do know that our country's most respected lawyers, including Kennedy, say the case against Trump should never have been brought and that it is weaponizing the legal system to go after political opponents. It is election interference and much worse. It is destroying our legal system and country. I know of a young man who I met years ago. He was a gentle soul who sold water purification systems. He was in his 30's when he innocently walked through the Capital building on Jan 6 together with other Americans through doors held open by Capital police in attendance. He walked through and left and went home. Months later he was contacted by the feds and told that he was under investigation for crimes against the US gov. They taunted and emotionally tortured him with repeated threatening contacts that led him to commit suicide. He was not guilty of any crime. The feds are still going after people who happened to be there that day. This is the country we live in now. We need to come together to stop the vitriol and deep deep destructive malevolent corruption. https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/596506-convicted-jan-6-rioter-dies-by-suicide-ahead-of-sentencing/ I just now see that Marjorie Taylor Greene has presented a bill to protect nonviolent political protestors. Cohen wasn't framed. He was a co-conspirator, held accountable.

The DoJ is currently prosecuting Hunter Biden and another Democrat (forget his name). Party affiliation is not a factor to criminal prosecutions (except during tRump's term).

I don't agree that "the country's most respected lawyers, including Kennedy" have the knowledge of the New York laws enough to make any statement about the case, and by doing so, they undermine the justice system just like tRump wants.

"Chris Cuomo Makes Surprising Statements on Trump Trial

Cuomo is unexpectedly making a lot of sense here.

The Vigilant Fox

Jun 1

Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo made a series of shocking remarks on Trump’s 34-count felony conviction during a heated debate with comic Dave Smith.

Cuomo stated, “I agree with your [Smith’s] analysis of the case,” referring to Smith's description of the guilty verdict as “appalling” and a “glorified misdemeanor that they turned into 34 felonies.”

Echoing Smith’s sentiment, Cuomo said, “This was a misdemeanor that was trumped up to felonies. To call it 34 counts is laughable because the 34 counts are different checks that were signed to pay back Cohen.”

“I think it was a case that should not have been brought. And it was brought for the wrong reasons,” Cuomo added."

Kennedy seems to ignore a huge % of the public's anger over Trump's instigating the Jan 6 attack on the Capital and his call for totalitarian control by him. This is pure treason and Trump deserves no sympathy. He is a flagrant narcissist, an avowed racist coming from a family that was involved with the KKK! He is a thief and liar and uses his theatrical skills to incite anger and divisiveness. He treated immigrants like scum and vermin, the type of language is often uses to describe people who seek assylum due to the horrific conditions from which they escape. He enjoyed separately families at the border and scattering the members around the country not even keeping records of where the children got sent. He was using these people for his own personal political gain with a base that is rabidly racist and eager to be violent against anyone that is different from them. Not that all Trump supporters are so opening violent and hate filled but I have yet met or read one who didn't support racism and violence against any who differ. No, Kennedy is dead wrong about Trump who deserves to be stopped unless you really support his totalitarian agenda which he openly talks about. And while he may not like the Dems using the legal system lets not ignore how the GOP weaponizes the courts and the media to attack the Dems with lies and using Congress to prevent any action if they don't have total control. Such efforts, like the Israeli demands for destruction of the Palestinians, are clearly stated goals that we see enacted daily in Congress. So let's not deny the 2 Parties play the same game perhaps with slightly different faces. Trump kept wars going and saw them as money making ventures. The Dems do the same. I often say the Dems are always a reaction to the demand of the Right to show they are more 'law & order' than the GOP. This is a paradigm created by the GOP which the Dems totally accept. BS to both Parties.

Nicely written. Whatever one thinks about the ethics of "hush money" payments or Trump generally, this is political persecution. There is no precedent in U.S. law for "falsifying business records" to be treated as a felony in the absence of some serious offense like embezzlement or extortion. This was a kangaroo court, and the kangaroo judge instructed the jury to behave like kangaroos as well.

But what is most eerie about this is the timing. At the same time that the verdict went down, Biden approved the use of U.S.-supplied weapons to be used by the Ukrainians to attack Russian territory. Trump's courtroom circus is being used to distract Americans from a potentially serious escalation with a nuclear power. Very dangerous, not just for the legal precedent that's been set.

Expand full comment

" There is no precedent in U.S. law for "falsifying business records" to be treated as a felony "

Yes, there is. It is codified in New York law. It is not the first time it has been prosecuted. No kangaroos there. You are simply echoing Trump himself, who can't open his mouth without lying.

Expand full comment

Falsifying business records per se is not a felony, and I am not a Trump supporter. This is about something more serious than whether one is a “Trumper” or not. Show me a case in which “falsifying business records” has resulted in a felony conviction absent criminal harm. If it was in furtherance of embezzlement or some other felony, that is different. But this is bogus. They even tried to connect it to interference with the Federal Election Commission, but did anyone from the FEC testify as a witness? No. Bogus law. Very likely to be overturned on appeal.

Expand full comment

I never said you were a Trump supporter; just that you were saying the same as he was.

Falsifying business records is a felony when it is done to conceal another crime. The other crime does not have to be proven, as it is simply intent, similar to the difference between manslaughter and premeditated murder.

By paying the hush money, he exceeded campaign contribution limits, and interfered with the public's ability to know the facts before voting (election interference).

It's not bogus. I think it will withstand appeal.

Expand full comment

So the falsification of business records was done with the intent to “hush up” Stormy Daniels, which you’re saying is a felony. You’re saying that the result of the “hush money” was exceeding campaign contribution limits, not that that was the intent. So you haven’t established the mens rea for a felony, and without proving state of mind, you’re grasping at straws, in this case an unproven “election interference” claim. You’re also saying that Stormy Daniels would have affected the election result. I could make the same claim about the Hunter Biden laptop story, but no way I could prove it. So I don’t think you have a case, but you may as well wring your hands in hope. TDS dies hard.

The trial itself is not election interference. It was about election interference in 2016. Keep the facts straight!

If you remember, the Department of Justice has long maintained that bringing a political candidate to trial this close to an election constituted election interference. This was from a memo scripted by then-Attorney General Eric Holder. So I believe that puts the facts on my side. That was also part of the background for why James Comey recommended that Hillary Clinton should not be charged in 2016, although he did not expressly state it in his infamous press conference on July 5, 2016.

Now, it is very likely that the Department of Justice interfered in this case, which would violate their own internal rules, since they allowed prosecutor Colangelo to resign his position within the DOJ expressly for the purpose of transferring to Alvin Bragg's prosecution team.

This article made me doubt both Kennedy and Shanahan. They are supporting the false narrative of the crazies saying that the Democrats are going after tRump and anyone else could be next. This is so untrue! It is the slow justice system catching up with the criminal that interfered with the 2016 election to get into the White House. The trial has had nothing to do with politics! Maybe you didn't have time to watch all the coverage of the trial, but I did, and it was totally above board and fair and exposed more of tRump's criminal tendencies.

The new documentary "Apprentice" shows a lot of his darker side also, and tRump is trying to get it retracted somehow.

Also, quoting Joyce Vance from yesterday:

> Writing in Slate Magazine, a former producer for Trump’s reality TV show “The Apprentice,” Bill Pruitt, says his NDA has expired, leaving him free to discuss details from his time on the show. His most startling revelation is a claim that while discussing which apprentice should win during one season of the show, Trump said, “but, I mean, would America buy a n— winning?” Pruitt says there is tape, like the Access Hollywood tape and has called for its release.

I like the man, his principles, and personal values overall. My question has to do with his political game: as one example, he is quick to defend his position as a 'believer' in vaccines--as he has stated: "I'm not an anti-vaxxer." This goes against what too many holistically aligned healers have understood for eons: immunization! ...not vaccination. We now see zero accountability or the willingness to connect dots between Turbo-Cancer and the 'experimental' mRNA drug formulations. [and- we rarely see dialogs in the MSM re the adjuvants added to the vaxxes--such as PEG. Impairing the human immune response is part and parcel to disease capitalism.
