It’s so rare to hear a man talk about being bulimic or anorexic. Weight loss is such a mental journey. Easy fixes aren’t sustainable. Great article! I got goosebumps when Jimmy talked about the rapper pointing out Jimmy being overweight as a sin having such an impact on him.

As with all addictions, be it to food or otherwise, there is an underlying casue that needs to be addressed.

Food can be used to not feel the underlying emotional pain or as a protective mechanism against (further) abuse, as Dr. Vincent Felitti found out in the mid-1980s (!). He headed an obesity clinic in San Diego where he noticed that women were losing weight while doing the program but put in on again when out. He then started asking questions which eventually led him to investigate the connection between childhood trauma and health outcomes, eventually resulting in the development of the ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Study. His work underscored the need to address the psychological and emotional roots of obesity, rather than focusing solely on physical factors. This groundbreaking research laid the foundation for understanding the link between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and adult health outcomes, including obesity.

"Levy’s war with food started young .(....)"; "“And when I was 20, I started becoming really suicidal because I lost dear people”

"(....) all addictions come from emotional loss, and exist to soothe the pain resulting from that loss." Dr Gabor Maté

Levy found God - his Savior, his Protector, his Provider, his Healer…through God anything is possible. He looked in the mirror and simply surrendered.

Exactly right. Much of what we see in the "gender confusion" movement is due to past trauma or emotional loss. Drug and alcohol use is often trying to numb the pain someone is experiencing. But to admit and try to help with the underlying cause would steal billions from industry and socialism movements.

So true. I wonder if MAHA will address those underlying causes. RFK Jr himself would then need to take a different approach on his past addictions. I love the work of Gabor Maté as he keeps emphasizing that it is NOT about guilting and shaming, either the parents nor the children for whatever happened but about taking responsibility for it.

Salt water helps me to drink more! It helps hydrate us better, helps the water get to the cells better....and the salt is the spark that helps bring it, us to life. Give it a try, and maybe add some lemon, too! It may grow on you :)

Soooo. You're saying. Eat healthy, Keto type. No sugar no bread? Add to that even more healthy fat. Exercise at least 30 mins. And that will burn the fat?
