Most every time it is used, it appears to be to smear the person saying it. The user never wants to debate the assertion; he/she just wants to bomb the person into oblivion for juts bringing an idea to the fore. People who persist in the use of the term need to be challenged at all levels. They need to be forced to defend their positions based upon fact and logic, and not by name-calling.
If there is anything that needs cancelling, it's the use of weasel words.
