What a horrifyingly revelatory debacle America witnessed last night! Biden lost in the first 15 minutes!. tRump was his usual hot-air self. Neither of them answered many of the questions. Very little of real substance about the issues came out of either of them. Thank God we got to witness Kennedy in the mix! I would never have made it through the evening were it not to watch him offer himself to the American public. We are on a new game board now! Thank you Dr Phil for the generous pre-debate interview! Thank you Elon and X for hosting the "debate"! Bravo Bobby!!! Thank you to all who are working to support the only person fit to be President of the US!

Great points, Lynne. Perfect summary of the problem with the debate format in general, and why it was so important for RFK Jr. to be up onstage with them.

Between Bobby’s campaign and Elon Musk coming up with a way Americans could view their REAL choices… the day was saved! At least for almost 6 million of us! I hope Bobby’s answers (which were the best… to the questions the formatting permitted) remain available for people to go back to or seek out! His closing remarks were wonderful! Thank you Robert F. Kennedy, Jr! Your Dad and Uncle would have been truly proud! Onwards!

Hurrah for RFK Jr., it is in fact possible we could have an election miracle of sorts, avoiding both evils of the corrupt mainstream parties (plural) and maybe upend the whole mess in a good way.

America has been wounded. Americans have been defamed in front of the whole world. This the best we have? This is the choice? We have been deprived of leadership by the corporations for the purpose of making money. Mr Kennedy is right, we need to change everything.

Your moniker says truth so you should at least be open to it. The beacon is a bastion of the truth and justice you say you seek. It's the corporate owned party system that needs to fold, and quickly. Use your energy to put an independent who cares about you and your family into power. Mr trump has his chance and failed, it's time for people not corporate power. Please, we need activists like you to make the world a better place for our kids. Thank you in advance....

I don’t know what the author of this article watched but it wasn’t what I watched. Don’t get me wrong, I DI NOT support Biden but I do not judge that he mumbled and bumbled as much as this author wants to make people believe. He definitely went down hill through the process but it wasn’t until the end 1/2 hour that it happened more and more. Trump did not look humped over nor did he look any less energetic than he did when he was in office. Yes, Kennedy was much superior than both in his appearance and his answers and he should have been there in person but I’m glad he at least got to do it this way thanks to Elon Musk.

Kennedy displayed intellectual depth, professionalism, respect for our Constitution and Bill Of Rights, qualifications to unravel corporate capture and censorship and corruption, and commitment to the health of children and our country. The spectacle of Trump-Biden ad hominem vitriol and inability to answer questions was appalling. I anticipate that the stunning contrast between Robert F Kennedy Jr and the other presumptive candidates will propel the citizens of the United States of America to seek Kennedy's leadership as our 47th President.

I was quoting RFK last night. I believe it is change, not recovery. We have been functioning in a consciousness that we have outgrown, it is the evolutionary pattern we have seen throughout history. My opinion.

Expand full comment
truth seeker's avatar

Yes of course, and you have every right to your opinion.

Mine is that you are broadbrushing using the term evolutionary pattern, without further delineating exactly what you mean. In any case we have gone into the weeds as this is not the topic whether RFK says so or not.

The so called debate questions are the topic. No one thinks Bidenista is anything but an old dementia patient posing as Potus. The question is whether Trump lied about anything (hint) he did not or do provide evidence in order of importance.

I did a point by point analysis on another Sub. RFK did extremely poorly and the Sub owner promptly deleted the fair and accurate post.

YvonneM's avatar

In all due respect and honesty, you have an opinion of bias against RFK, I see it in your liked comments. Why would you follow him in substacks if you do?

My reference to the “evolutionary” pattern is historical, as I stated. There are many who understand that reference without me explaining. I referenced it for them and those who wish to investigate further.

Watched via X. I thought Kennedy's performance was excellent. He deserves the right and the courtesy to be present with Trump and Biden on the stage-that would be a true game changer. Couple things, Kennedy needs to be more concise on the abortion issue. This "my administration is going to support pregnant women so they can have their child" isn't enough, it's vague and simply not a promise anyone can make. Kennedy needs to be more concise on contraception, mifepristone, and reproductive choices and care. The rehab farms-sounds sketchy. Will the US government purchase/lease these farms, are the people sent there as free labor in return for rehabilitation? It sounds sketchy. So if Russia has more nuclear arms than we do, how is cutting our military budget in half going to help the US. The reality is we need to be strong and prepared to deter nuclear exchange with any country-sad truth. I like Kennedy, but he's got some holes in his platform he needs to fill. Please clear up the ambiguous platform descriptions on the Kennedy website. He had a good performace last night-just needs to fill in what's missing.

Expand full comment
YvonneM's avatar

He has deeply addressed all of those issues in the hundreds of YouTube interviews, podcasts, and on X, where his abortion statement was clear and concise. Plans in detail is requiring a lot from a man interviewing for a job who's also on the road every day, actually campaigning.

The other day I listened to a 2 hour interview he did, and I still picked up new information after a year of following him daily, reading 10 of his 20 books, listening to 150 of his personal RFK Jr. podcasts, zooming with his grassroots and campaign team. He just did a documentary (45 min?) on addiction and rehab farms last week.

I've never known as much about a candidate since JFK and RFK Sr. personally and professionally.

RFK needs to be able to concisely answer questions in 2 minutes. He's been too used to being able to talk at length on podcasts. Last night, quite often he wasn't able to finish his answer because he reverted to using his usual long answers on the podcast circuit.

This is certainly a limitation of the 2-minute debate format, but you're correct that versatility across formats is certainly a necessarily skill for a president. All three grappled with this last night, but Kennedy certainly managed it proficiently.

Biden and Trump were both bumbling and incoherent. If that was a job interview--and it was--, they both proved themselves unsuited for any employment, trading invectives like two schoolboys.

Kennedy was not at his best--too tanned and appearing nervous. I could be wrong about that. The tan may have been bad lighting or my monitor, and his awkwardness may have been embarrassment at playing clean-up to those wind-up bloviators. They were indeed toxic.

“Two old guys” you say? How old is Kennedy?

70. To everyone under 40, he’s old too.

It’s not arbitrary age, it’s the health and cognitive abilities of the individual.

I had a friend recently pass away at 73 from Alzheimer disease that she suffered from for 7 years. Conversely, my 76 year old Tae Kwon Do Grand Master can make mincemeat out of people less than half his age. His cognitive abilities are superb.
