What’s So Hard about Telling Americans the Truth?
A Review of Deception: The Great Covid Cover-Up
By Blake Fleetwood, The Kennedy Beacon
“Without Question, Fauci Belongs in Jail” – Senator Rand Paul
Recently, the good Dr. Anthony Fauci spent two days of closed-door testimony before a House Subcommittee fessing up to the earlier “misinformation” he gave to the public and Congress when he was the Covid Czar.
He answered “I don’t remember” more than 100 times the first day and profusely defended his previous congressional testimony where he stated the National Institutes of Health (NIH) did not fund gain-of-function research in Wuhan.
“Dr. Fauci’s testimony uncovered drastic and systemic failures in America’s public health systems,” said Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), and Fauci “had no idea what was happening under his own jurisdiction at NIAID.”
The subcommittee could have saved time and effort by reading Senator Rand Paul’s book Deception: The Great Covid Cover-Up, from Regnery Publishing, an in-depth accounting of the tapestry of lies spawned by the COVID-19 pandemic, which was published last fall. (Regnery is a new imprint of Skyhorse Publishing, whose founder and publisher is Tony Lyons, co-chair of the American Values 2024 super PAC, which funds The Kennedy Beacon.)
Paul calls Fauci a “traitor to his country” for earlier testimony he gave under oath before the Senate when Fauci denied that his agencies had ever funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. In a heated exchange, Fauci repeated venomously that Paul, a medical doctor, “did not know what he was talking about.”
Turns out that Paul did very much know what he was talking about. He confronted Fauci with newly discovered private emails and leaked documents that indicated that Fauci knew full well that US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) grant money was used in gain-of-function research that may have contributed to the deaths of 1.2 million Americans.
Paul has referred Fauci to Attorney General Merrick Garland for perjury prosecution, noting that it is a felony to lie to Congress, punishable by up to five years in prison.
(Another recent book, The Real Anthony Fauci, by independent candidate for president Robert F. Kennedy Jr., savaging the alleged crimes of Fauci, has sold over one million copies and was a New York Times bestseller for 20 weeks. Also, read Kennedy’s new book, The Wuhan Cover-Up and the Terrifying Bioweapons Arms Race.)
Kennedy met with Senator Paul in early January 2024. Paul, a Republican, a contrarian, and a strong libertarian, was quoted in Politico as agreeing with Kennedy’s “skepticism of crony capitalism, I like his skepticism that large parts of the regulatory apparatus of the government have been taken over by big business.”
Kennedy said that he and Senator Paul share a lot of issues in common – “restoring free speech and ending forever-wars, chronic disease epidemics, agency capture, and government waste forever.”
In Deception, Paul presents voluminous evidence that COVID-19 was created with US taxpayer monies and that Fauci covered up his and our government’s culpability.
We may never know for sure whether COVID-19 was created in a lab funded by the US and Chinese governments. The scandal is that nobody is trying very hard to find out about the needless deaths of more than seven million people around the world. Where is the Warren Commission? (Flawed as it was.) Where is the outrage? Where is the UN? The EU? The WHO?
Doesn’t anybody care that this horrific scenario might appear again?
The sad fact is that the US and China do not want anybody to know the truth. This may rank as the greatest cover-up in history. When the two greatest superpowers want to hide something, it’s hard to pry anything meaningful out of them.
As Paul writes, the Fauci cover-up started in March 2020, just when COVID-19 was spreading from China and Japan. The virus first appeared in Wuhan, where there just happened to be a major infectious disease laboratory funded by the US and China. Scientists from that lab were getting sick and dying.
There must be some connection. No?
Anthony Fauci, ever the political operator, knew that if this conclusion were allowed to stand, the blowback would come straight back to him. Hundreds of millions of dollars of grants and unreported royalties were at stake. Heads would roll if the truth got out, and his multimillion-dollar empire of grants and power would collapse.
Something was urgently needed. It must be proven that the virus came from nature – bats – not from a government-sponsored lab.
Fauci had to act quickly to quash the most obvious narrative. He handpicked a team of influential virologists from the best universities – “the Best and the Brightest,” yes-men – to come up with a paper that he stressed was “urgently needed.”
Fauci got what he wanted. When he read a pre-publication copy of Proximal Origin, he approved and praised it as a “very thoughtful summary and analysis.”
A few months later, the lead author, Kristian Andersen, received an $ 8.9 million NIH grant from Fauci – job well done.
Anthony Fauci had concluded that the American public could not handle the truth, as Jack Nicholson’s character inimitably tells Tom Cruise’s in A Few Good Men.
But Paul’s book Deception, which reads like a bioweapon spy thriller, exposes the manipulation and lies that were being told to the world. Paul got hold of the private emails of the virologists – Fauci’s squad of yes-men – and quotes from them. It turns out that according to emails, five days before the publication of Proximal Origin, the illustrious team of virologists was still harboring “grave doubts about the virus not coming from a lab.” The headline in the final paper read that COVID-19 was not a laboratory construct. But in the body of the scientific paper, there was much evidence that contradicted the headline’s conclusion.
Most of the US media and newspapers – The New York Times, The Washington Post – went along with the apparent conclusions of the yes-men, and major science magazines went all-in on the Fauci propaganda.
Skeptics who doubted the lab-origin conclusion were called pushers of a “fringe theory” by The Washington Post and “conspiracy theorists” by The New York Times.
Proximal Origin was published in Nature Medicine and became one of the most cited journal articles of all time.
Only one reporter, former New York Times science writer Nicholas Wade, saw through the lies and contradictions. Despite a brilliant self-published analysis in Medium and long investigative credentials, no mainstream media would publish Wade’s devastating critique of the cover story.
Fauci had won, for the moment, until the private emails began to surface. A Freedom of Information lawsuit finally revealed the fraud. All five authors of Proximal Origin had initially concluded a different finding, that the virus was not consistent with natural evolution, but Fauci, in private emails, led them to emphasize a different conclusion.
Senator Paul’s book has received scant mention in the mainstream media, and this is a terrible shame. As they say, “The first casualty of war is the truth.”
Apparently, the US government doesn’t trust the American people enough to tell them the truth about this very important issue.
It is bad enough to be lied to by our adversaries – the Russians, the Chinese, Hamas, and Iraq – but it is even more terrifying to be lied to and silenced by our own politicians and government agencies: enemies in our own house.
The US government and the mainstream media didn’t tell the people the truth about Vietnam, Iraq, Syria, the other forever wars, and now COVID-19.
Rand Paul’s profoundly important message is that without knowing the truth, the American people are helpless, left in a dark dystopian pseudo-democracy, and easily manipulated by the oligarchs and corporations who increasingly control every aspect of our lives.

If you win the presidential election, please form a committee to prosecute and punish all of the COVID liars that caused great harm. I would love to see Rand Paul lead this committee. True law and order needs to return to this country.
Feel helpless against this deplorable govt snd the evil Fauci! We Need Bobby in the WH !!
He is the ONLY one who can Drain the swamp!
