Weekend News Round Up – RFK Jr. Builds Momentum Speaking Truth on Economic Struggles of the Middle Class and Working Poor While Opponents Focus on Corporate America
“Economists and the Biden administration keep telling us the economy is doing great. That depends on what statistics you look at. Do you look at the ones that reflect the well-being of corporations and the wealthy? Or the ones that reflect the experience of the middle and working class? I promise you, it’s the second that I’ll pay attention to as President.” – RFK Jr.
Leading Kennedy news:
RFK Jr. criticized the Biden administration’s insistence that “the economy is doing great.”
Once again, the legacy media, in this case the DNC-aligned PBS, minimizes Biden administration failures. You might recall RFK Jr.’s recent interview on PBS NewsHour. The host minimized the crisis at the southern border and acted as though Kennedy was incorrect on the facts:
I do not recommend getting into debates with RFK Jr. if you do not have your facts together …
Taking on the military-industrial complex:
“He lamented the deviation from his uncle’s path, pointing to the endless succession of regime-change wars that followed, draining the nation’s finances and moral authority. He attributed much of the $33 trillion national debt to military spending, including $8 trillion in regime-change wars, and called for a redirection of resources toward education, infrastructure, poverty, health, and the environment.” – RFK Jr. vows to dismantle US military empire in the legacy of JFK | Al Mayadeen
RFK Jr.: “My promise to the American people is that I will put us back on the road to peace that JFK led us toward when, shortly before his death, he issued a national security order to withdraw American advisers from Vietnam. We will instead take a path back toward peace and prosperity for our country.” – RFK Jr. demands Joe Biden release final JFK assassination records on 60th anniversary | Daily Express

We wrap with a couple of poignant lessons to consider as we close out the Thanksgiving weekend.
The first lesson is provided by Douglas MacKinnon at The Hill: “As we celebrate Thanksgiving, a current political campaign reminded me that giving and receiving thanks can occasionally depend upon world-altering acts of courage, defiance, and instinct. That political campaign is Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s now-independent run for president. Kennedy currently has the highest favorability rating among the field of 2024 presidential candidates in a Harvard CAPS-Harris poll.”
MacKinnon then points us to the courage and wisdom ofPresident John F. Kennedy: “Sixty years after we lost him, we should not remember President Kennedy for his death, but rather for resisting suicidal pressure, trusting his instincts, and taking a gamble to save humanity. That is a Thanksgiving to immortalize.” – He saved humanity: The better way to remember JFK | The Hill.
The second lesson is from RFK Jr., and it addresses his thoughts about gratitude – RFK Jr.’s Thanksgiving Thoughts on Gratitude. Kennedy teaches us that gratitude is a choice. I have seen RFK Jr. teach about many issues – history, the environment, and a variety of other topics. I greatly appreciate his insights about his recovery from addiction. I have received feedback that just hearing RFK Jr. talk about this so openly has already helped many people walk into a twelve-step meeting for the first time. It occurs to me that it has been a long time since we had a potential president who is so honest and comfortable imparting wisdom.
“No one ever got to their death bed and said to themselves, ‘I should have spent more time worrying. I should have spent more time complaining.’ That has never happened. And with that, I’ll leave you to enjoy a Happy Thanksgiving with your families.” – RFK Jr.

I had the same thought about Bobby revealing his history with heroin addiction. This inspires so many others who see the decent man Bobby became even while grappling with his demons. His embrace of the 12 step AA also inspires since that is the foremost model for dealing with addiction outside of a treatment facility. He is leading by example which is inspiring to us all. Thanks for keeping us up to date on the presidential candidate of a lifetime at the 11th hour
