Wednesday News Round Up - RFK, Jr. Vows to End Humanitarian Crisis at the Border.
“As President, I am going to end the humanitarian crisis. I will start with its most immediate cause — an uncontrolled border. As I seal the border to illegal immigration, I will proceed toward deeper reforms to stem illegal migration in the long term, while expanding lawful, orderly immigration according to principles of justice and fairness.” - RFK, Jr.
Unlike the Biden administration, RFK, Jr. is committed to ending the crisis at our nation’s southern border. Kennedy described the situation there as a humanitarian crisis. Rather than stoking fear of migrants, RFK, Jr. described the tragic impact of the Biden administration’s current policies on women and children. Kennedy stated, “Our unregulated border is not compassionate. It is an open opportunity for the worst kinds of organized crime.”
RFK, Jr. stated, “The criminal cartels that now control immigration across the Mexican border exact a high price. Migrants are routinely robbed, raped, kidnapped, and sex trafficked. On my trip to the border at Yuma, Arizona, I visited a treatment center for children who had been victimized by gangs and heard stories of mass rapes of women. I met a man who had been separated by the cartels from his 18-year-old daughter. He had no idea what happened to her…These horrors are happening systemically and at scale. The whereabouts of some 85,000 children who have been separated from their parents are unknown.”

Today’s negative media coverage - This podcast argues that RFK, Jr. is running as a “conspiracy candidate’ – RFK Jr.’s politics of conspiracy - The Washington Post.
Then we have this remarkable hit piece by Now This News. My partner, Kim Rossi did some research on this media outlet:
Now This News, was founded in 2012 by Huffington Post co-founder and former chairman Kenneth Lerer and former Huffington Post CEO Eric Hippeau. It has a YouTube Channel with 2.2 million subscribers which is directed at millennials and produces Now This Originals. Until recently, NTO was part of Vox Media. Yesterday, they posted this video about Robert Kennedy, Jr. - Who Is Robert F. Kennedy Jr.? – Now This Originals. Here’s the introduction to the video from NTO:
“Nepo baby RFK Jr. is challenging Biden in the Democratic primary — here’s what you should know about the politician who thinks that Wi-Fi radiation causes cancer. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. comes from one of America's most renowned families: The Kennedys. A longtime environmental advocate, RFK Jr. is now a democratic candidate for the President of the United States. RFK Jr. spent much of his life as an attorney going to bat for the environment and holding those destroying it accountable. In 1999, he was named one of Time Magazine’s ‘Heroes of the Planet’ for his environmental work. While much of the first half of his life was dedicated to combating eco-terrorism, the second half would shape up to look something like a really long episode of ‘InfoWars.’ In the early 2000s, RFK Jr. took a turn down conspiracy lane, claiming vaccines cause autism. Though RFK Jr. might not pose a significant threat to Joe Biden at the moment, he has caught the attention of prominent Republicans.”
The video is so slanted that you just might fall over while viewing it. They open with a topic Millennials have witnessed far more closely than their Gen X parents or Baby Boomer grandparents - Autism. Millennials are the first generation of American school children to interact regularly with people who have autism. Note the use of “Nepo baby” and reference to the Kardashians to appeal to young voters. The DNC and Biden are losing younger voters as this Breaking Point podcast points out - RFK Jr, Marianne CRUSH Biden with Young Voters | Breaking Points.
How was the NTO video on RFK, Jr perceived by their viewers? Here are some of their comments:
“This is dirt cheap smear propaganda. You skipped absolutely everything that is positive about the man and took a few things blatantly out of context to paint the worst picture imaginable. For folks that actually might be interested in learning more skip this smear piece.”
“RFK Jr. is who I'm going to vote for even if I have to write his name in. Enough of the corrupt DNC puppets!”
“You pretend to be objective, but you did not refute anything really. Show the actual evidence to refute the arguments!”
“Nice propaganda guys.”
“If the tradeoff for no more wars, higher wages, cleaner air and water and a less angry America is a Presidential Commission to investigate vaccines then the American people are getting a great tradeoff for what RFK JR is offering. For those blindly supporting the establishment, how do you think things can change if we don’t listen to alternative voices?”
As these comments indicate, vile, nasty, slanted hit pieces by media aligned with the DNC are not working.
